She never planned to love again. He never planned to fall for her. Someone plans to make sure neither of them gets the chance.

Delphi Gifford has made peace with the idea that she might never love again—not after losing her husband, Fallon, in a tragic accident while they were still in college. She's thrown herself into work, family, and moving forward. Local photographer Jeremy Litster—with his oversized ego and obsession with speed—is the last man she'd ever consider letting into her heart… no matter how tempting his charm or his motorcycle might be.

What Delphi doesn’t know is that Jeremy was hand-picked by her late father to woo her—and Jeremy wanted nothing to do with it, but didn't realize she wasn’t in on the plan. After six months of working side by side, Jeremy finds himself surprisingly drawn to the sharp, stubborn woman who sees right through him. Regretful of how things started, he sets out to earn her trust the honest way.

But just as Delphi begins to let her guard down, the unthinkable happens: someone tries to kill them. Now, their growing connection becomes a matter of life and death as they scramble to uncover what—or who—they crossed. Because the only thing more dangerous than falling in love… is being a target together.

Wild Hearts

One in a trilogy - pretty good story - I didn't pick out the 'bad guy', which is always a plus.
