To thine own side be true...

Minerva Dalton is an experienced operative among the Agents of the Convent and not easily ruffled by the nature of her work. But when the first social event of her assignment is interrupted by another operative using the same alias surname as her own, she has to make a sudden adjustment that changes the course of both missions. And that of her life.

Griffin Russell did not expect the surprise that was Minerva when he'd taken this assignment, but he was not about to argue with a woman who was stunning as well as dangerous. He takes up an unlikely partnership with her to protect them both from discovery and failure, and discovers just how skilled and accomplished an agent she truly is.

Working together, can they accomplish both missions and not kill each other in the process? Or will something far more complicated and far less expected arise from their predicament?

Editorial Reviews

"Minerva and Griffin are such a fun couple to see interact, and we get fire and spice from the very first meeting. They are in constant battle of wits and sarcasm/snarkiness. It is so entertaining and creative, and I wish I could read this book for the first time every time I pick it up. So much swoon, so much romance, so much kissing… (perhaps a little too much, as the tension and lead up is a big part of the fun and too much of a good thing makes it less exciting, but that’s my humble opinion, haha).

Pick up this book. But, if you want my advice, maybe don’t start it at night… I wouldn’t call it a mistake for the book’s sake, but it might be a mistake in consideration of your sleep schedule! Haha. Oh, please enjoy this for me for your first time through… so much goodness!

fantastic book!

Absolutely loved this book. I love this series and all books by Rebecca Connolly but I especially enjoyed this one. Just the right mix of intrigue and romance with engaging main characters and of course the varied cast of secondary characters. Bring on the next book!!

Connolly is a gem

This third book in the A of the C series is vintage Connolly. A devious mystery involving the ever plotting Faction brings two supporting characters to the fore. Where Connolly is so brilliant is that all her characters are so distinct. No carbon copy templates here. Her repartee is brilliant and pitch perfect. The romance is self-contained to the book, but the mystery is a cliff hangar. The writing is excellent as always.

great books but…

I really like this series. The plots and characters are great. The history woven in is fantastic. In my opinion the rough language is unnecessary as I believe it will not attract more readers. Those you enjoy your style will read and appreciate the series and tolerate the language to a point but myself I’d enjoy the books more without it.

Brilliant

Such a fabulous read, twists and turns, delightful banter, and so much adventure. The intertwined characters from previous books are almost my most favourite thing 💐
