Editorial Reviews

"I loved this book. The story of Elinor, a self confessed man hater who really hates Hugh Sterling. And Hugh Sterling, a man who has worked hard to reform himself, but can he prove it?

Reading how the 2 of them see each other differently was lovely and I really enjoyed this story. Can’t wait for the next book."

Delightful and highly entertaining

Truly enjoyed this book. The storyline, though not totally original, was nevertheless well carried out and processed. The characters were lively and expressive. The writing was very enjoyable; there was a lot of humour and laughter throughout the story, which I enjoyed very much. There were no typos nor glaring grammatical errors, which I appreciate so much! I highly recommend.

Hilarious and heartwarming!

This was my favorite of all the Spinster stories. I want the Aunts to come to my home for Christmas. The descriptions of family dynamics at their best -- and worst, were spot on and filled with love, understanding and patience. It is so nice to read a romance filled with such depth! All of this, centered around Elinore and Hugh's tumultuous and tender emotions, made for a thoroughly riveting and entertaining read. Can't wait for Edith's story to come out next. Yay Rebecca Connely!!

Fun for the holidays

A good clean read and just right for the holidays! This story is a stand alone but great when read in the series order.Elinor is an unconventional spinster who meets her unconventional love in Hugh.It is humorous and touching to see these well developed characters work past their past prejudices and behaviors to see what they have in common.

Excellent Series

I've now read 11 of Rebecca Connolly's books and I have enjoyed each one. Her characters are well developed with funny, warm, complex, good people who would make excellent friends. Her clean romance stories are passionate nonetheless. God Rest Ye Merry Spinster is no exception. I would be hard-pressed to name which in the Spinster series is my favorite so far. I've come to know each character well, and this story of the redemption of both Elinor and Hugh was believable and natural and a delight to read. I'm most interested to discover who wins the hearts of Lady Edith and Charlotte! Looking forward to reading them all.
