To see or not to see...

Emmeline Bartlett has a secret. By day, she is the polite, proper, sometimes teacher of writing and rhetoric at the prestigious Miss Masters's Finishing School. But by night, she disguises herself as the mysterious Ears, exploring and investigating the darker sides of London, writing articles about her discoveries under a pseudonym and exposing scandals. When a handsome Spaniard crosses her path, Emmeline discovers new adventures in London by night, as well as new dangers.

Teodoro de Vickers y Mendoza isn't sure what he is going to do with the title he inherited from his estranged English grandfather, but he's come to England to find out. Meeting Ears on a nighttime walk isn't part of the plan, nor is finding her intriguing, exciting, and beautiful. The further he gets into her world, the more he wonders about his own, and the less certain he is about everything.

Except for her.

Editorial Reviews

"The Ears Have It is an exciting book of espionage and romance. I loved the intrigue, the danger, the daring, and the foiled plots. I loved the growing love and romance. I loved getting to know the well developed characters with their flaws and their strengths. If you love adventure and excitement with a side of romance you’ll love this book."

Loved it

Great book. I couldn’t put it down. Instantly endearing main characters of Emmeline and Teo. Fave paced story with twists along the way. Another great book from Rebecca Connolly.

More Than A Good Read

Connolly is a master of her craft. I found the beginning a tad slow, but once Ears meets the Capitano, the book takes off. The narrative never quite goes the way you expect it to, and once the Shopkeepers merge into the mix, the suspense ramps up. The dialogue is as lively as engaging as we expect from Connolly, and pitch perfect for her characters. You could read it as a stand-alone, but it is far richer if you have read the Shopkeepers series ad the first book in Agents of the Convent.
