Editorial Reviews

"See those flames on the cover? They're a very accurate description of what you'll find inside this book--flaming hot chemistry. *swoon* I love this author's writing style and how she adds a bit of friction to a great romance.

Caylee is spunky and fun and her sass spills over into all of her personal relationships. She decides from the very beginning that she does not like Levi and boy does she have some fun with him. The barbs and banter emerge from the first encounter and had me smiling and laughing throughout because he can dish it right back. The attraction and wit is so swoony and sizzling--the flames almost jumped off the pages. Good thing there's a fire fighter in the house.

This Lake Powell vacation really brought out the best in both of them and brought to light some secrets that hinder the future from unfolding. From the cool, mountain air of Park City to the boiling hot and gorgeous Lake Powell, I felt like I was along for the ride with the characters. I loved every minute and had a very hard time putting it down." Katie Watkins, Hiding in the Pages Reviews

"This was another one of the Park City Firefighter Romances and I LOVED it! I actually read this one first, so it was kind of fun to see the glimpses of Levi and Caylee that you got in Rescued by Love turn into real people in this one.

I liked Caylee. She is a strong young woman who is not looking for a relationship. She pretty much goes on one date with a guy and then he's gone. She has some serious trust issues from her family situation as a child and that makes it hard for her to commit to anyone. And Caylee knows Levi already because he's the brother of her brother's fiance. She wants nothing to do with him.

Then there's Levi. He's just gotten home from Afghanistan. When he meets Caylee, he's intrigued. But it's pretty obvious that she's not into him. Then they're constantly thrown together on a group trip to Lake Powell and he sees what a risk taker she is and know that he wants to spend the rest of his life protecting her from herself.

This is such a fun novella! I loved the setting, I could almost see the red rocks of Lake Powell and smell the water. I loved the story, and the characters. I really loved the way that Levi was willing to step back and allow Caylee the time to grow into whoever she was going to become.

This is a great novella to spend an afternoon reading! Such a great escape. I need to go read more of this series!"

Caylee and Levi

Caylee's first encounter with Levi was not a pleasant one, which she had in Cam and Sage's story. Now he's back from Afghanistan and the family is there at the airport to welcome him home! Only she's excused herself to use the restroom so she won't have to experience any of the warmth of his family's welcome home. She's at the water fountain when she bumps into someone. When she realizes who it is and he doesn't recognize her, she decides to have a little fun. Levi can't believe he has bumped into the most beautiful woman he's ever seen. However, when his sister Sage comes over and is happy they have met, he is fuming mad! Caylee is just as infuriating in person as she was on the phone! Will these two be able to be cordial with one another for the sake of their siblings who are getting married? What happens when Sage books a houseboat for a one week vacation they all go on? Only one way to find out, read this great story by Cami Checketts!

Learning Not to Judge, Learning to Trust

I enjoyed the characters in this book. I liked them even more because I had met them in the previous book that came out before this one which was the siblings of the two characters! Both Levi and Caylee were great people who were trying to deal with emotional stresses in their pasts. I liked going on this journey with them. The main thing you could takeaway from this story was NOT to judge from your first impression of someone which is what both Levi and Caylee did at first. I'm glad they finally got over that!Enjoyable story and I would recommend it!

To Commit or not to Commit

Much of this book is about whether or not a couple wants to take a chance on love. They both admit to a strong attraction, but each has trust issues. Sometimes the reader gets confused, also. It is not my favorite Cami Checketts book.

Excellent

Caylee and Levi added some interesting drama to Rescued by Love, and I couldn’t wait to read their story. These two are the best!! Their constant banter is so funny, and when they finally get serious… get the tissues. Wow! So sweet. Levi’s patience and gentleness with Caylee is just so amazing.
