A feisty schoolteacher and a too-serious firefighter. When sparks ignite between them will the fire burn them or keep them warm?

Captain Cameron Compton is content with his job as a firefighter and coaching a youth lacrosse team. He doesn’t need or want anything else in his life. Then a tall blonde schoolteacher parks her Jeep illegally in front of a fire hydrant, and one of his crew soaks it with water. Repentant but un-intimidated, she fires back at him, and he’s pulled in by her spunk. Sage Turner has wished her entire life that she could shrink to a normal-sized woman. She hides her insecurities pretty well, but when she falls for a hot firefighter, she’s certain she’ll never be good enough. Stranded together at her cabin, sparks start to fly, and Sage barely suppresses the urge to kick him out in a snowstorm. A fire and a moose attack should bring them together, but instead, they might sever any hope of being rescued from the flames or loneliness.

Editorial Reviews

"Wow, this is such a fun book! I really loved the whole premise of this one.

This really is a fun story. I loved the feel of it, I felt just like I was in the mountains of Park City with Sage. Wind blowing through our hair as we cruised around in her jeep." Cathy Jeppson from My Book a Day Reviews

good story

Enjoyable, clean, light read. Less focus on people's looks would be good, but otherwise I enjoyed it, and may re-read it at some stage. Recommended.

Sweet cuteness

Hey I found this to be a very well written short story of romance, love and communication, memories and focusing on the future. Short and sweet with cuteness factor.

A great read.

Sage and Cam have an unusual relationship, she's insecure because of her height and he's lost his parents and is unsure about letting love in.Full of misunderstandings and adventurous exploits.

Parking in front of a hydrant and where it leads

Sage Turner is a school teacher in the town. She is in a hurry, can’t find a parking spot, parks in front of a fire hydrant, and rushes into the store for a quick purchase. She never expected that a fire would break out next door and her jeep is blocking access to the fire hydrant. Captain Cameron Compton is content as a firefighter, until he meets Miss Turner. She is a very tall woman and it has caused her insecurities of never being good enough. Cameron has his past horrors that hold him back as well. Great read.

Banter sparks hot in this opposites attract romance

I love a good forced-proximity relationship and this one was great! Cameron and Sage are great characters. Although Cam is serious, he does so much good--a captain, a coach, and a rescuer. Sage, the school teacher, is feisty and sweet, and sparks fly hot with the banter between these two.I loved the first meet, the cabin situation, and the swoon in this opposites attract romance between the rule keeper and the rule bender.Content: mild+ swoony romance
