Flawed Female Ends Up With Saintly Male

Short Sighted has an engaging story line. I loved the concept of having a prospective couple bonding over a shared goal of helping children in need. It was very believable how this romance came to be.However, I felt the main female protagonist, Laura, was a little too flawed for me. She held grudges for too long, and she was too quick to accuse people of actions they did not do. It was difficult to understand how people could be so forgiving of her, especially when she still had the same flaws to the same degree throughout the entire book. I did not see much character growth.The male protagonist, Rambo, was perfectly written. He had the right amount of flaws and the right amount of forgiveness to be realistic. He was almost too saintly, but one had to be to have a happy ending with Laura.I received this book for free, and I am voluntarily writing this review.

Learning to trust

Enjoyed this story with themes of bitterness versus forgiveness, judging others versus trusting, expecting the worse versus expecting the best, pushing others away versus needing others, and foster kids needing someone to care about them and believe in them. Judgmental Laura, whom caused me to do an inner look at ways I struggle to trust and push others away, finds herself working for her enemy Rambo, who she considers overly confident and mean. After all she still remembers how he treated her in middle school. Can they ever find a way to get past old hurts and really get to know each other. Could God have a plan for their lives that involve each other. I love that they take a teenage foster kid into their lives and seek to help him learn respect and manners and give him a new chance on life. This reflects the fact that many times our hurts end up bring our God given ministry.

Rambo and Laura

A beautifully written sweet romance. Laura had a crush on a boy named Ray during school….. until he embarrassed her on the basketball court.Fast forward to a great opportunity where she meets her new boss, Rambo, who has started a great foundation to support underprivileged youth. Parks fly, until Laura realises that Rambo is actually Ray.Short Sighted follows Rambo and Laura’s journey to love, and support of Kris.Not my normal book but overall a good read.I was lucky enough to receive this book as an ARC from Hidden Gems

Wonderful inspirational story

In this book you will learn about foster children, and amazing people willing to help them. Laura and Rambo’s past and future will have you flipping the pages to see what happens next. Kris is struggling worrying about his mom. How this community works together to help kids like Kris is truly amazing.

This is a sweet and loving love story with loveable and charming characters that will definitely have you enjoying their journey unconditional love and family.
