She’s had a lifelong case of wanderlust. He’s a cowboy with a secret past. New to town, her neighbor might just make her want to put down roots.

Chevy Ann has spent her life on the go, traveling the world and taking odd jobs. When she learns the father she never knew left her his estate in the quaint town of Blue Bay Beach, she plans to sell it to fund her next big trip. What she isn’t counting on is the cute cowboy next door.

Tucker Ritchie fled the ranch with a secret and now fixes cars in southern Florida. He learned his lesson when it came to girls next door. When he gets a new neighbor with the kind of hair that gets tangled in the wind while on the open road, he has the urge to tame it and let her tame his wild heart.

While Tucker helps Chevy fix up an old car, he discovers for all her worldliness, she doesn’t know how to drive...and she’s never been kissed. Will they change that and both stick around or will they hit the road and go their separate ways?

This is book 4 in the Blue Bay Beach Reads Romance series. Each story stands alone but reading them in order provides a deeper, richer experience. It is a sweet, small town, “clean and wholesome” romance, is faith-friendly, and contains a happily ever after.

Running

Chevy and Tucker have both been running from the pain. She from a selfish drug addicted mother and the loss of her friend and he from mistakes in his past. He was grumpy and disagreeable at their first meeting. But she also closed herself off, not allowing anyone in too close so she wouldn’t get hurt before she left for her next adventure. I loved reading about all the places she had visited. I wouldn’t have had the courage to just go with wind and travel all over the world without having a safety net. I loved The Dog, who was mischievous and determined to claim Chevy as her person. It was interesting reading about the old cars Tucker was fixing up. That was his love and not ranching nor drag racing. It was great to catch up with characters from previous books in this series. Blue Bay Beach sounds like a great place to live where people are friendly, care about each other, and look out for one another. The recipe for cowboy cookies at the end sounds yummy.

Chevy and Tucker

When the father she never met passes away and leaves his house to her, Chevy heads to South Florida to check it out. Betty and Gus, the next door neighbors, are lovely and welcoming. But Tucker, who lives on the other side - well, they get off on the wrong foot. No worries, she's just there long enough to sell the house to fund her next travel excursion. Before long, though, it begins to feel like home to Chevy. I always know that I'm going to get a sweet and clean romance from this author, but I really enjoyed this story. Chevy and Tucker have both experienced the loss and pain of a mother. There are similarities in the heartbreak in their backgrounds as well. I especially like that neither of them is looking for a relationship, but as we all know, that's when love hits the hardest. This was a really nice book to curl up to this rainy afternoon.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
