This was a fun one

This was a fun one.A mysterious death, a holiday celebration, lots of new relationships, a new monster.I liked the mystery in this book, with the letters and handwriting clues. And the ties to the water. I enjoyed the Thanksgiving meal and everyone getting together.I’m not sure how I feel about this Luca guy with Juliette. And after this book I have Strong feelings about Serena and Samuel. Strong. In all, this is one of my favorite, maybe my favorite, Circus of the Dead Chronicles book.

Good Read

This was a fun part. I love sirens. I'm still not feeling Luca. Really all we know of him is Juliette thinks he's great. We never really see why. I think overall that telling style is what keeps this from being great. It makes everything feel shallow. There is no real character development or world building. We are just told what we need to feel and know. I'd love more immediate scenes to pull me in. I still enjoyed the storyline.

Loved it

Circus of the Dead Chronicles by Kimberly Loth continues with her fifth installment in this spin-off series featuring Juliette and Samuel on a new island. Things are going so well! They rescued Mason from being a class pet bat, and they both are currently happy in loving relationships…but it seems that the happy times aren’t meant to be right now.
A new death has occurred on the island. A love letter is the killer’s calling card, and Juliette’s discovery of it leads them to stumble across the scene before more lives are lost. The red herrings point in one direction, but the truth comes from another that you really won’t see coming. I personally…I was shocked. It was so well done!!! I loved it!
The pace is well done for this book, and I like that the author gives the characters some normalcy and happiness, but then everything becomes shattered and their worlds once again up-ended. This installment leaves you with some questions concerning Juliette especially, but I’m eager to read what’s going to happen next.
I’m rating this installment 5 out of 5 stars. Job well done to the author on this one. I’m looking forward to the next to see where things are going to go from here.
