Juliette never wants to see Samuel again. In fact, she’d prefer it if he stayed on his side of the island and she on hers, but when a good friend becomes a monster’s latest victim, she has to turn to him. Things between them are icy and cold, but she manages to keep things civil. However, as the clues in the case reveal the true monster, Juliette isn’t sure she’ll ever be able to trust anyone again.

A chimera!

Everything she felt about Samuel all the good she thought is gone now there is only rage.Afraid everyone will be able to tell she is a banshee. Hiding away in her condo stuck on the island takes her back to the circus. She now has this pull like a consciousness it’s light but it wasn’t there before. Finally letting her friends take her out for the first time in two weeks, she feels a little better Luca shows up and she feels terrible she ever let herself feel anything for Samuel. The studio is reopening and she finds it ironic it will be ran by a monster again. Realizing the new moon is tonight she rushes home to lock herself away to fight the pull to kill. When the pull gives way after midnight she takes a walk deciding to take the path she walked with Luca on their date, she finds him sitting on their bench. Her heart breaks when she realizes he is dead roped open and bled out! Teaming with Samuel once again to find the monster they find a claw which leads them to believe it’s a chimera. After class Juliette asks Dylan to help close up he refuses saying he has a super late private lesson, Juliette offers to take it after all she can’t be turned she is already a monster so she can at least save him.

Mind blowing

Each episode of this series gets better and better! The twist and turns throw the characters into some spooky creatures and the betrayal that Juliette feels from Samuel does not help at all

Juliette

This part took me from not connecting with Juliette to not liking her. She spends most of time having thoughts that make her come off as a petulant child. To blame Samuel and refuse to even hear what happened? He deserves a better character to fill pages bedside him. Aside from just being bored with living in the head of a character I no longer care about this had the pacing and shallow pov issues of the rest. I would have stopped a few books ago if I hadn't bought them all already. Deep pov and a stronger heroine would have really served what is essentially a good storyline.

Wow! An emotional whirlwind for this one. I was hooked from the beginning and love how things are shaping up for the finale.

Strings pulled hard

When a friend falls victim to the cursed island, Juliette and Samuel must pull together and put their differences aside to solve his case. This one had some twists and some bits of sadness, but still loving this series. I volunteered to read this book.
