Five years after being jilted at the altar, Hudson Ross’s wounds have finally healed. He’s ready to settle down. He has his own ranch, a pair of horses, and big plans. The only thing missing is a wife. Despite his best efforts, there’s one woman he can’t shake. His sister’s best friend, Reese.

Never mind that they live a thousand miles apart, that she’s as city as he is country, or that they’ve only spent a few short weekends together. Their kisses under the stars have ruined Hudson for any other woman.

It’s the only reason he agrees to his sister’s matchmaking scheme.

Reese Calloway has just been offered her dream promotion the day before she boards a plane to Starlight to help out her best friend’s brother with a home renovation project. It’s everything she’s ever wanted. She should be happy, but something doesn’t feel right.

She hopes a week away will help her clear her head, but all it does is confuse her heart. It’s quite possible she’s falling in love with a cowboy.

Cowboys & Shooting Stars (Starlight Cowboys Book 6)

This was a good book although I did not enjoy it as much as I did the books in the Alaska series with Ed the Moose, but Melvin the Turkey was a good substitute. The romance between Hudson and Reese was a little too tame at first and therefore I never really felt that they had a true connection until the end. Sweet and easy to read.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Great Read

Hudson was left at the alter and after that he decided he needed a change of scenery, so he moved from Chicago being an office executive to Wyoming working on a ranch. He seemed to really be cut out for this new life. His sister, Ronnie had even eventually moved to the area and married and was expecting her second child. Hudson had managed to even buy himself a three hundred acre ranch, which Ronnie was getting her best friend, Reese to come from Chicago to do a remodel on. Hudson had admitted to Ronnie, he was in love with Reese, so Ronnie had a plan to get Reese to Hudson's house for a week, and with Ronnie's detailed instructions for Hudson to court Reese she would want to stay. Hudson tried to follow the list most of the time, but some of it required more than he could handle. Things would happen that were out his control and then there were times he would just wing it. Those times were not to bad as Reese always seemed to really enjoy them. They had chemistry between them that was undeniable, there was humor, and even a little mystery to the story. All this was enough to hold my interest until the end.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

The romance was missing, the hugs, kisses,. smiles, it was all just business like.

I have read and loved all the books this author has written and this one disappointed me which surprised me. There is no romance in this story at all. It is just there, neither character showed any love toward the other one until the very end of the story. I wanted a lot more in this one, they had liked each other for a very long time and it was the perfect time to show their hearts to each other but it didn't happen during the whole story until the very end.

good read

The book is a good, and enjoyable sweet steamy romance read that has little bit of actions and suspense.. The story has a good story line. The characters are good, and they have good chemistry.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

A Crossroads

Hudson wants Reese to fall in love with him and Starlight, but she just got offered a large promotion at work. She’s at a crossroads and has to decide what path will make her the happiest. I'm not rich, but I've worked jobs where I had to work a lot of overtime and I wasn't happy. I like having time to do the things I enjoy like reading, traveling when I can, and spending time with my family. Hudson had the executive life and he prefers the slower pace of his ranch. I love that he kept the blind horse that came with it and wouldn't allow hunting to get rid of the turkeys even half tamed thinks he's a pet Melvin. Hudson's sister Ronnie is crazy with her lists and plans to make Reese fall in love with Hudson. I think he was more romantic when he skipped her script. This was a sweet small town cowboy romance.
