JUST ONE TASTE is a standalone read with a happy ending. It is part of a series and if this is your first read you will not be lost. Each story stands alone with a happy ending. No cliffhangers. The story is set in Texas on one of the largest ranches in the area. It is a big family affair with the grandfather being ahead of the household and he pretty much is in charge of everything. He is an ex-Marine and an ex-governor of Texas. He has plenty of money and political pull so he gets things done that others can't, He doesn't hesitate to call in favors if he needs them.Paige, a granddaughter is the wine maker in the family. She is determined to make the best wine in the state of Texas. She is years off from her goal, but she has no intentions of slowing down. She is rather surprised when her grandfather shows up and tells her he needs a favor. The grandfather is determined to bring a professional hockey team to Houston. They are on the short list but the scout, Daniel, will make the final decision and he is visiting Houston in a few days. Interesting but Paige doesn't see how she fits in this picture. Her grandfather asks her to help him sell Houston. He wants her to talk to Daniel and show him all the positive opportunities of bringing the league to Houston. She agrees to help him, but it means the time she was going to use to produce a wine for a local contest will have to wait.Daniel was a professional hockey player until his leg was crushed in a car accident. His career was ended but when he was offered a job with the team, he took it. He would do anything to keep his hand in with the team. He is not looking to move the team to Houston. He doesn't think there is a big enough fan base and no local teams from schools, etc. to be able to support a pro team. After meeting and getting to know Paige, he is starting to think maybe Houston would work. This is a really good story. I really enjoyed it and I definitely recommend it.I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer, nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am not a bot. I am a reader, and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 11/7/2023.
