One night. One rule. No strings.

Abi Blackwood never expected a whirlwind trip to New York City to change her life. But one unforgettable night with her brother's best friend—charming, confident, and completely off-limits—sets her world spinning. Three years later, she’s built a life she loves in her small town, raising a daughter no one knows is his. And just when she thinks her secret is safe, he walks back into her life… and into her family’s kitchen.

David Fairchild never thought he’d settle down. A high-powered attorney with a past he’d rather forget, he’s always kept his relationships short and simple. But when he moves to Whisper Springs for a fresh start, he doesn’t just find a slower pace—he finds Abi. And the moment he sees her again, he knows the truth: He never really let her go.

Now, with secrets unraveling and a little girl who looks just like him calling Abi “Mommy,” David is faced with the one thing he swore he’d never want—a family. But can a man who’s spent his whole life running finally stand still long enough to claim what’s his?

A striking story.

Abi Blackwood and David Fairchild, her brother’s best friend, had an unforgettable one-night stand during a whirlwind trip to New York City. Three years later, his attorney practice in Florida collapsed; therefore, he decided to move to Whisper Springs, her hometown, to work with his best friend. Soon after his arrival in Whisper Springs, he meets Abi’s three-year-old daughter. Meanwhile, Abi’s brothers prove to be of the overprotective type. The main characters work to build a lasting relationship, all the while struggling with personal insecurities. The story’s interpersonal relationships range from supportive to antagonistic, providing a rollercoaster of emotions to entertain. Overall, it’s a striking story.I received a review copy of this book from a third party. This is my honest review.

Felt like pieces falling together.

We finally know the lingering story and what happened! Every story that comes from Whisper Springs makes me feel more and more like family. It feels so good to see family find happiness. . . This is no different! I find myself talking to the characters . . . “OMG Just tell him already!” “What is your deal? Leave them alone!” “Yes! Yes! Yes!” Need context for those statements? Read the Book!!! It is an incredible addition to the series!

Get Abi's story - Cute and relatable

Sweet read and possibly the most relatable so far. I've definitely felt like Abi a few times trying to find my "thing" Couldn't put it down and now I CANNOT wait for Mark's story (hope it's the next one)

Abi's secret is out, it's doozy turning friends to enemies.

This is my favorite of the series!A one night stand in Hew York with one of her brothers friends is everything Abi could have dreamed for plus a unexpected reminder.David has hit rock bottom and needs a place to get away from it and his best friend suggests he relocate by them and he can stay in one of there places. He's nervous about seeing Abi again and he's never forgotten their night together. He is shocked when he sees she has a daughter and she's his "mini me", everyone notices it too her secrets out , friends become enemies and he's left to face all the brothers, that already have a place to bury his body!

Sweet, Second Chance, Friends to Lovers story!

Kimmy Loth has done it again!!!!I just can't get enough of the Blackwood family and Whisper Springs. Todd and Terry are amazing as always, the Blackwood brothers are intimidating and protective...as always, and Lily is an absolute ray of sunshine.Abi and David's story has been in the back of my mind since book 1 and I'm so glad we finally were able to experience it. It hooked me from the get go, and Kimmy never let off the accelerator! The way David found out made me chuckle and then he made me melt with him text messages that he sent her each evening.I love that in Abi quest to find her "thing" or her passion, she stumbled across something to help David heal. It is heartwarming to know that he can start on his healing journey now. I just couldn't put it down (which seems to be a trend with this series) and I can't wait for more!
