Coaching the high school basketball team and building a life in their hometown has been his dream... until a shocking doping scandal threatens his job and his reputation.

As Karissa struggles to trust again—and Marshal fights to clear his name—they’ll discover that sometimes the right person has been there all along. But will the weight of past mistakes and present challenges keep them from finding their happily ever after?

Interesting story, but not deep enough for me!

Second Chances: Love in Juniper Ridge: This story tells us of Karissa, a broken-hearted wife and mother who is going through a divorce and moving back into her parents' farmhouse with her little boy, Paul. Her ex, Dennis, cheated on her and has moved on with his new 'fling' who is now very pregnant with their child. Hey, this situation is making Karissa angry, unhappy, broken, untrusting and not sure that she will ever trust a man again. She didn't see it coming - we seldom do - she thought she had picked the man for a lifetime, so her ability to choose seems warped. Then along comes Marsh - well let's face it, Marsh has always been there with her brother Hank. She practically grew up with him, and he and her brother Hank had fun teasing her as a teenager. Karissa is a copy who is currently working as a dispatcher. Hank is a H.S. teacher and team coach. The author writes this story well, but I have learned very little about Juniper Ridge and really little or nothing about the characters, other than their love, their loyalty or disloyalty, their faithfulness of lack of it. I do understand that it is in a series and more will come later. Overall, the book is written well and ended at a very satisfying spot.

Learning to trust

Karissa was betrayed I the worst possible way by a man she promised forever to. Heading back to her home town to lick her wounds and rebuild her life, she reconnects with Marshal, her brothers best friend.Marsh has always held a torch for Karissa, and is delighted to have the opportunity to start something with her. They make tentative steps toward a relationship before something happens to make Karissa question whether she has again made the wrong choice in men. This tale of second chance love, set amidst a mystery is a great way to spend a day curled up with a book.

Interesting read!

Karissa is moving back home after her divorce with her 5 year old son. Marsh is her brother's best friend who has been her nemesis since they were kids.Due to the breakdown of her marriage, Karissa is full of insecurity about her worth and her ability to be 'enough' for a man.Marsh is a high school basketball coach and teacher who gets embroiled in a drugs scandal. Will Karissa believe in Marsh and how will their relationship move forwards?I felt frustrated at parts of the story when Karissa let her inner demons interfere. It was understandable that this would happen after the collapse of her marriage but I still wanted to knock some sense into her.I enjoyed reading about what a dispatcher does and had a demonstration of it while reading this book.Overall I would say its a good story with well developed characters.

Nice!

Enjoyable read! Loved the general story, and I especially loved seeing Marshal and Karissa's relationship progress. They were both beautiful characters and they go nicely with each other. The setting was okay, but didn't quite manage to draw me in. The secondary characters were also lovely. The storyline was good, but it was a bit too predictable because I could guess some major plots. I would recommend this book if you are looking for a sweet, clean read.
