ONE DOES NOT SIMPLY SNOG THEIR BESTIE

★ EMMA

Single Pringle Never to Mingle. That’s the pact I have with my best friend who happens to be the sexiest man in Hollywood. We’re cast as lovers in his next picture so do we spend extra time rehearsing those screen kisses in his kitchen? Maybe. Do I like it? Yes. Yes I do.

What? There’s no rule saying we can’t pretend.

Pucker up, mate.

★ JAXSON

Who am I kidding? Emma Woods is my best mate. Hollywood’s sweetheart.

Off limits.

But I'm done watching her smooch other men on camera . So what do I do? I cast myself as her romantic lead in my next picture. Genius idea? Or will my plan turn out to be a spectacular flop? The Academy’s still deciding on that one.

♥ A sparkling, laugh out loud, hysterical friends-to-lovers romance.

♥ If you like simmering chemistry, clever and witty banter, heart-stopping kisses, and fast-paced humor, you’ll fall for Jaxson and Emma in this closed-door romcom based on Jane Austen’s timeless classic, Emma.

A wonderful tribute to the original!

To say I’m a fan of Jane Austen would be putting it lightly.I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve re-read my favourite books or watched the BBC adaptations.I absolutely love the retellings of her books as I know the story so they are easy to pick up and I really enjoy reading someone’s new interpretation and bringing a modern twist on these timeless classics. This book is a retelling of Emma and I absolutely loved it. Jax was a perfect Mr Knightly and definitely up there in the best book boyfriend competition. The dual POV was so good, I love getting the male’s perspective in books and just made me love Jax more.🌟Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✍️ Fave quote: “‘It’s almost midnight, Emma…’Sorry. Wait. Why aren’t your children in bed?’ ‘Because they’re mini terrorists.’”I was between this and when Jax asked Emma if she wanted him to read to her. I still love that quote (seriously, a man who will read to you 😍) but I think a lot of parents will be able to resonate with this.I’ve already started the pride and prejudice retelling which is my favourite Austen book and I’ve got high hopes I’ll love it even more.If you are wanting an easy read with an HEA and just the cutest characters I strongly encourage you to check this out.

Difficult to Review

This was a hard book for me to review, because of all Jane Austen's books, Emma is one of my least favourites. I find Austen's Emma to be a self-absorbed, callous, meddling, presumptuous character. Blume, on the other hand, manages to give the story a modern twist with relatable characters, and we get to see this Emma in a more sympathetic light. Well written and easy to read, I felt compelled to give this book 5 stars simply for the swoon-worthy H, Jax.

Beautifully made

It's difficult to get a better modern-day rendition of Jane Austen's Emma than this one. Each and every character is picked from that story and perfectly fitted in here. Elton, Frank Churchill, Jane Fairfax, Harriet, Weston, Annie... All are perfectly rendered. Each important scene is lifted and transformed to this modern-day adaptation to perfection. I loved it.I've always felt that Mr Knightley brings a lot more to their relationship than Emma in the original. It kind of feels less of that in this story and I think that's the greatest strength.

Fabulous!

A great entertaining read, based on Jane Austen's 'Emma'. It us so clever how the author has incorporated the characters and the story into today's Hollywood! Very witty. Cherming characters. And a sweet, fulfilling HEA.

First book was good, this one not so much

Emma is the least likeable character I've read in so long, she's whiney, dumb, and manipulative. There should be zero reason a nice successful guy like Jaxon wod ever be interested in her except she's pretty, that's it. She's just unlikable.
