This is a really funny rom com. After an unpleasant lunch with her ex boyfriend Ren heads into work and promptly runs into a hunk of a man. When questioned by some of the office women, she introduces him as her ex boyfriend even though she doesn’t know him. Matthew has just returned home to help his dad dig the family business out of financial ruin and takes over as CEO of the company. On his way out of the office he is knocked over by a woman and ends up wearing her lunch. Then she introduces him as her ex-boyfriend. Thus the elaborate scheme begins. Will they be able to keep it a fake relationship since they will be working together to save the company?

Fun story with lots of teasing banter

Enjoyed this rom com set in St. Louis. The hilarious encounters and teasing banter kept me smiling. Ren's character is strong, capable, and vulnerable. Matthew's character came across arrogant, but deep down he wants to do the right and he has the skill and confidence to pull it off... Only Ren has a way of shaking him, and his best laid plans completely upside down. Fun story and hope to see this become a series.

Good story, but…

Overall, the storyline was good with many laugh-out-loud moments, but the editing needed work. Many mechanical and grammatical errors throughout.

I have never read this author but the summary sounded different. It is hard to come up with new twists on the usual tropes, but this book succeeded! The story was original and entertaining! Matt used every twist/turn to his advantage. The situations and banter were lol funny. Ren is a character anyone can connect with. I could not put this book down! It was so fun! I can’t wait to see what else this author has to offer! Highly recommended!
