There are many ways to die at the Circus of the Dead.

You’re invited to witness them all.

Mom sent me all the way across the country to the Louisiana bayou to join the circus and help my uncle for the summer.

Except there is something not quite right on this swampy cursed island, and after having my fortune told, I can’t leave.

I try to escape, but Benny, an all too charming ghost gangster tries to kill me by feeding me to a tiger.

Thankfully I’m rescued by Samuel, the incredibly hot ringmaster who can’t be a day over twenty. Can he?

In addition to avoiding the human scorpion, staying away from the big cats, and having trouble figuring out who’s dead and who’s alive, I have to find a way to escape this horror show. Will I get out of the circus alive or will I join their army of ghosts and become a murderer myself?

Welcome to the Circus of the Dead.

Circus, voodoo and mystery.. and romance?

Wow such a great start to a new series of books. Definitely something I’ve never read before but if you like a paranormal story this is for you. It has ghosts, it has tigers, it’s got fortune tellers, oh and they’re all trying to kill you.In my head I picture it as a kind of Tim Burton and Coraline kinda vibe and imagery as it’s quite dark/moody. For 16, Callie is pretty level headed compared to other teen featured books. She’s sent to help her uncle at a circus but he doesn’t know why she’s there (suspicious) and I hope the reason why is explained in the next book. She’s now stuck on the island after getting her fortune read and she’s trying everything to get off the island. Now she’s got a ghost who seems to like her and also the ringmaster is adamant he’s keeping her.A quick easy read which I enjoyed. I read it over two days and will definitely be reading the next instalment.

Unsure

I really wanted to love this books as I'd had it on my list for ages. But it felt VERY repetitive and like it wasn't going anywhere. Then i realised why. It's because the story is spread across 14 books. I'm still undecided if I'm going to carry on with the story.

Deliciously different

I found this book quite the page turner. From the off there is mystery and intrigue and pull to find out what is going on. I have never read a storyline like this before and it's a good one! By the end of the book I realised it was mostly a build for what's to come and I am looking forward to continuing Callies journey. I am hoping the next book sheds a little light on Samuel and Benny too. Read it and enjoy!

Wasn't sure at first.

Wasn't sure at first about this book. It did grow on me and it was a enjoyable read.

Love the cover, different to what I expected

I am not sure what I expected really as I pi ked up this book on the reviews, something a bit different to what I normally read I thought it would be scarier especially Samuel, Benny I get, the reluctant ghost killer but even the swamp and alligators seem passee. The circus was not foreboding and the love triangle was a bit boring with no first kiss till the end let alone anything else. Iqod have hoped for more intrigue surrounding the characters who are stuck on the island but most information is superficial. Maybe the seond book will tell me more.
