Outdoor-enthusiast Beck Alvarez is afraid of nothing. As a counselor at an all-girls summer camp, she can handle anything that comes her way, from disputes over who gets what bunk to beating the other cabins in camp competitions.

What she can’t handle is Colin Donovan, the ridiculously rich and handsome widowed dad from San Francisco who decides he needs to spend the whole summer at camp and make sure everything is perfect for his daughter. Despite bad first impressions, the pair of them build a budding friendship, and no matter how many times Beck tells herself the parent of a camper is completely off limits, she finds him hard to resist until the end of summer sends him home.

But when a mysterious letter brings Beck to San Francisco and into Colin’s elite world of the wealthy, Beck suddenly has to choose what she wants more: go back to the comfortable and familiar world of camp, or stay with Colin and hope she’s not the only one who thinks their relationship is more than friendship.

Beck Alvarez is afraid of nothing—except risking her heart for a man who may be too broken to love again.

My favorite in the whole series!

My favorite in the whole series! Like the rest of her books, they grab your attention and you cant put it down! Thoroughly enjoyed this book as well as the rest if the series. I love that they are all connected even though each book features a different character in the "family."

Sweet romance that sings to your heart

Romance, sweet, contemporary; series but stand alone readBeck and Colin's story was so heartfelt, hurting, real, and sweetly romantic. Told from Beck's POV, it was so engaging, Introspective, and beautifully told. Her character was so well-drawn, and loved her cares, worries, concerns. Her passions, doubts, fears, and her zest for life, all jumbled together as she cares for so many, Collin and Macey becoming part of her circle as she navigates through her new life trying to find her future.Lovely addition to this series, fun setting, strong characters, and unique plot made this a gorgeous read for me. So glad to have discovered this author.

My Book A Day
I don't know how this author writes books that suck me in so easily

I don’t know how author Dana LeCheminant does it. But her books suck me into them so easily. I loved everything about this one. Including getting to see familiar friends from her other books. The reader sees this whole book through the perspective of camp counselor, Beck Alvarez. I loved everything about her world, especially how much she loved her job and the girls. I really had to laugh when she first met Colin. She did not like him, and I’m pretty sure the feeling was mutual. But as the two worked to make Macy’s first year of camp great, they grew to like each other. At least a little bit. When things changed for Beck, knowing Colin made things at least a little easier. It’s always better to have a friend. I loved how Beck had to work to learn what to do and how to act. She really got thrown for a loop in this book. The plot of this one is great. I really hope we get to see these characters again soon!

A comfort read

This was my favorite book written by this author. An outdoor loving girl falls for a big city rich guy who has issues. It starts out at a girls summer camp where they are all angels. It seems a little unrealistic but nice. It makes it easier to focus on the main character. Yes, there is a happy ending as expected.

A wonderful contemporary romance

What a wonderful contemporary romance!! I'm so glad I discovered Dana LeCheminant or she discovered me. This is a continuation of the stories of the Davenport family and their friends. This is Beck Alvarez and Colin Donovan's story.Talk about opposites attracting. Beck is 100% an outdoor girl and Colin spends everyday in a suit running his tech company. Beck spends her summers as a counselor at an all-girl camp where a lot of disadvantaged girls go to spend their summer. It's where Beck spent her summers and she doesn't want it shut down so she's told to be nice to Colin Donovan, who's going to give them a lot of money to keep the camp running. The problem is Colin is going to be there all summer to make sure his young daughter has a great camp experience! When camp ends Beck's life is changed when she receives a letter. Suddenly the tables are turned as she finds herself in Colin's world, where she never imagined she'd ever be.I loved watching these two become friends over the course of the summer, as Beck got Colin to do things he'd never done like ziplining or going in a canoe. I could feel their feelings toward each other changing and wondered how it would get resolved. Then Beck receives that letter which changes her life and suddenly Colin is the one guiding her through things she's never done. This is a slow-burn romance as the main characters have to admit their feelings to themselves, come to terms with their pasts, be willing to risk their hearts again and admit to the other how they feel.I loved seeing all the familar characters from the other Simple Love Story books, and how they were kind to Beck, as they "adopted" yet another person into their family. I liked Colin's little girl, Macy, and how she grew while at summer camp. I liked both of the main characters--Beck really loved working at the camp, and she cared so much about the girls that came every year. Colin was so adorable while at camp and so swoony when he was back in San Francisco helping Beck navigate high society. I like how the author resolved the story. I found it believeable and not at all rushed. I l've enjoyed all the books in the series that I've read so far, and look forward to more.
