Kit Morgan has always hated change—he’s as steady as they come.

At least, that’s what his friends think. Feeling trapped by a routine he never wanted but everyone expects, Kit is almost glad when his life suddenly falls apart—especially when it leads to him running into his middle school girlfriend, Skyler, who happens to need a fake fiancé for a family reunion.

The two pick up where they left off seventeen years prior, and Kit reverts back to the friendly and fun-loving person she knew for the semester they were together—someone completely different from the role he’s been playing his entire life. Desperate to cling to his chance to change his life for the better and finally live the life he’s always wanted, Kit is ready to tell Skyler he’s in it for real. The problem? She has no intention of settling down anytime soon. Or ever.

Torn between the reliable life he’s always known and a sweeter one without guarantees, Kit has to convince Skyler—and himself—that past patterns can be broken and relationships are worth fighting for.

Otherwise, he might lose the only person who’s ever known the real him.

Excellent

Loved this so much. I was worried about Kit and who he’d fall in love with. I needn’t have worried as Skylar is the perfect fit for him. The fact that he agrees to pose as her fiancé on a weeks holiday with her (extremely large and extended) family after meeting her again 17 years after their first kiss is a perfect start to the whole story. Of course, with the Wonder Boys, things are never exactly smooth. The paintball war was epic with enough competition which then helped to make the fairground event more fun! Skylar’s step-family drama kept things interesting and will they actually manage to pull off this fake fiancé deal when they’re falling in love for real.A brilliant finish to a fantastic series and I can’t wait to read whatever comes next from this author.

Gimme more!

I'll admit I didn't warm quickly to the characters, but it's probably my fault for starting with the last book in the series. Even though they're standalones previous books would have helped me warming to the different sides of Kit more quickly. That said, when I got into it I was ALL IN and devoured the rest of the book without any care for the outside world. After all fake dating not so fake from the start is in my top 5 favourite tropes list. I was totally engrossed in all the family drama, all of the dynamics with the different step siblings and the kids and their three goals for the week. And I loved the comunity of the Wonder Boys! I really think I'll go back and read the rest of their stories!

The Perfect Closer to the Wonder Boys Series

The final book in the fake dating series, The Wonder Boys, is SUCH a satisfying read. Really, I don’t know if I have the words to properly tell you how happy and pleased I was reading this one.I have been highly anticipating Kit’s story and Dana LeCheminant delivered on every page. You think you have an idea of who Kit is, but just you wait, you will fall EVEN MORE in love with him in his story. You’ve got Kit feeling lost with everything life has thrown at him and a determined Skyler who has plans for her future that her family, and the “Clark Kent” Kit can’t change. Let me tell you, you are in for a treat with this story. You’ve got family reunion shenanigans, paintball, forced proximity, small town summer fair, cozy cabins, second chance romance the Wonder Boys, let’s not forget them. One thing I loved about Kit’s story is the character growth you see for him and Skyler. There is ALOT of growth that happens in this book. There are a lot of emotions, things to work through, fears to face, and I loved reading and seeing how it all came together in the end. They pull out the best in each other-the fun, serious, the emotions and make each other shine. Round of applause to LeCheminant for great writing, fun and heart pulling plot with great character development and so much more. This was such a beautiful, exciting, heart breaking and swoony close to the Wonder Boys series. I loved every minute spent reading it. And the epilogues. LeCheminant knows how to go epilogues the right way and I got all I could ever want out of them. I may have even teared up...ok, there were tears because I love these four guys so much and seeing how they build lives for themselves and each other is just beautiful. Loved this book and highly recommend that you read this and the other three in the series if you haven’t yet.

The conclusion to a wonderful series

Read it for the:-Fake Relationship-Childhood love-Forced proximity-Cabin setting-Self-discovery theme-Series finalRomance/Steam: Sweet, Kissing onlyFinal Rating: 4 / 5The conclusion to a wonderful series, Love in Disguise is packed with romance, laughs, and heart. The long-awaited story of the leader of the Wonder boys, Kit, was nothing like what I was expecting, and I enjoyed it so much more.I think what set this book apart from the others in the series, was that both main characters did not really know who they were at the beginning of the story-only that they needed to change. The plot was just as much about Kit and Skyler finding themselves and navigating life shifting around them, as the romance. I love the realistic feel and complexity this brought to an otherwise light-hearted plot.As for the romance, the chemistry between Kit and Skyler was great. I loved that they were childhood sweethearts that never really forgot each other. The fake relationship plot allowed them the chance to get to know each other again. I felt that their feelings were genuine, and I loved the second half of the book! It should be known, Kit and Sklyer hold the title for the most kissing in any Wonder Boy book. The epilogue was everything I could ask for, and I’m sad to see this series come to an end.

Fantastic end to an amazing series!

Fake Fiancé, close proximity, lots of heart, endearing characters, family reunion in the mountains, clean swoony romance, and of course, the Wonder Boys! What a fantastic end to an amazing series! From that first book I was drawn to these Wonder Boys, and this last book really tied a beautiful bow around the whole series. In Love in Disguise, we finally get Kit’s story!Kit is the guy who keeps all his friends together. He’s the glue, but also a mystery. This handsome illusive guy keeps everything to himself. While he’s deeply involved in his friends’ lives, there are secrets he’s been keeping even from his sister. He’s so worried about disappointing others that he’s perfected the mask he wears. But, deep down, who’s the real Kit? When his middle school grade crush shows up in Diamond Springs after 17 years, his world is about to get thrown upside down.Skyler was devastated when she had to leave Diamond Springs 17 years ago. She’s especially missed her first crush, Kit. Leaving her high powered attorney job for her dream job, she comes back to the only real home she’s known and decides to open a bookshop. But, in order to keep the funding, she needs a fake fiancé to take to a family reunion. A chance meeting in a local restaurant reconnects her with Kit and surprisingly he agrees to be her fake fiancé for the week. But, after spending a week with Kit, will she be able to let him go?I loved Kit & Skyler! They’re perfect for each other and bring out the best in each other. It was great to see Kit finally shed some of that seriousness and really open up. Seeing him in this new light makes you love him even more. He shares things with Skyler he’s never been able to share with his closest friends. Skyler’s chaotic, unstable childhood makes her cautious about all the relationships in her life. She’s afraid of loss. Kit really helps her let go and overcome those fears.I loved the friendship bracelet, the playful banter between Kit & Skyler, the paintball incident, tie-dye t-shirts, all that happens at the fair, the kiss in the rain, and the woodworking. It was also enjoyable to meet Skyler’s family and watch her get closer to them. Can’t wait for the spin off series! The two epilogues at the end were amazing! Loved the glimpses we get of the fabulous futures in store for all the Wonder Boys. Though I’m sad to see the series end, this book wraps it all up beautifully. Highly recommend this book and the entire series!
