Micah Taylor is an eternal optimist, but with every first date that fails, her faith in true love weakens. When offered the chance to help reopen the lodge where her parents were married, Micah is determined to prove her worth and show her boss that she has what it takes to be a great event planner. But the grumpy assistant to the client, Fischer, sees her as a distraction from his own goals of taking over his boss’s company, and he seems to be in her way at every turn.

Despite his reservations, Fischer’s heart latches onto Micah the moment he sees her. As they work together, Fischer begins to realize that Micah could be the one thing he needs, but she deserves better than a broken man incapable of love.

But the more time he spends with Micah, the more he knows there’s no going back. He just has to hope he can become the man she has been dreaming of before she decides it’s time to move on to someone better.

Brilliant

This is the perfect definition of a grumpy vs sunshine romance. Micah is incredibly positive and exudes sunshine wherever she goes. Fischer, on the other hand, is closed off, unwilling to even smile and takes being grumpy to the next level. All of which makes a brilliant story which keeps moving along well, with the added bonus of Micah’s step and half siblings. Micah and Fischer have fantastic banter and her determination to see him smile has you cheering her on! The trivia night was a blast and gives a small insight into the others stories. The family dynamic was really gripping and there was a twist that I didn’t see coming with Fischer and his family. An excellent start to this new series.

What century are we in?

Should know not to trust multiple 5 star ratings. This is a “sweet” romance which should be labeled ultra conservative. It was never stated that Fischer and Micah were both virgins but the story certainly reads that way. Definitely no sex before marriage and they blushed at the thought of kissing. Fischer was “terrified “ that Micah’s father would find out they slept together. As in they actually fell asleep together on a patio lounger. Seriously! Amongst the many things I disliked about this book is the repeated references to a TV show I’ve never seen. As I have no knowledge about the characters or plot mentioned numerous times this was really annoying. Also annoying was the interwoven narrative about Micah’s siblings’ romances which you have to read the following books to learn the details. Well, I won’t be doing that! Micah is cute and bubbly and desperate to find love. Every man she meets asks her out so she goes on a different date every night but no one measures up. She lets her boss walk all over her but still thinks she will suddenly be valued by Lila and given a promotion. Fischer is awkward, introverted, humourless and also lets his brother treat him badly at work. He doesn’t like to be touched and nearly has a meltdown and wants to have a shower after a woman touched his arm. He has kissed a couple of women but seemed to think it was gross. He calls Micah’s brothers and father Sir when introduced likes he’s 12 not 32. I only finished this boring book to see if the author revealed that Fischer was on the spectrum at the end. Will not be reading this author again.

Adorable!!!

Fischer and Micah are opposites but when they are forced to work together, sparks fly!!!This series has me hooked! I'm patiently waiting for the next book so I can devour it and then patiently wait for the next book and repeat cycle!!! Hahaha!I loved Micah's sunshiney character. Even though she has her moments of struggles and sadness and hard, I loved her positive attitude in trying to keep moving forward and finding a way to fix and help. She's smart and spunky and truly a ray of sunshine! Just what Fischer wants in his life right? Nope! *giggles*Poor Fischer isn't going to know what hit him when they meet. But I loved watching how it helped him. He's had a pretty big setback that he's still struggling with and carrying all the guilt from. He's holding himself back because he feels like he can't move forward and be happy after what happened. But I loved how his roommate Kale and Micah are able to (separately) help him and show him that joy is a good thing!Fischer is such a gentleman! Read it and find out how!I loved how the author introduced Micah's siblings into the story. And I'm very much looking forward to reading all of their stories! The teasers about said siblings are great! One of the siblings I've read his book in a previous series and loved it! Now for the other siblings! Counting down the days!!!Content: Clean. Some kisses but nothing further. A couple secondary characters drink alcohol and become intoxicated.Happy Reading!!!

Fischer and Micah

Oh! My! This story is delightful. I never wanted to stop reading. Micah is easy to know and love, ever optimistic and positive. Fischer is not the man he wishes he was. But can he change that with enough motivation? I love the family dynamics. I love the work relationships, both good and very much not so good. I enjoyed the background information and getting to know the characters. And I absolutely loved the chemistry between Micah and Fischer. I loved that they were good with and for each other. You should definitely consider reading She Likes it, Hey Micah.

Sunshine/Grumpy Romance with all the Feels

If you want sunshine and swoony all in one this is the romance book for you. Dana LeCheminant is easily one of my favorite authors. Her last series The Wonder Boys is easily one of my favorite series out there. hen I found out she was going to do a spin-off series with a few characters we met in the last book, to say I was excited is an understatement.I instantly fell in love with Micah from the teasers we got. Now we have her story here and have it be so perfect for her character is just down right happiness. LeCheminant doing what she does best with a romance. Micah and Fischer’s story is packed with all the things to make a great romcom. From the grumpy/sunshine and opposites attract to the age gap, forced proximity and workplace romance LeCheminant keeps the story interesting, exciting and moving. With a few twists and turns along the way this sunshine of a gal Micah finds the perfect guy to balance her out. And he’s attractive, so what more could you ask for?Well done Dana LeCheminant! Another hit, another great series starter and a whole lot of swoony, romcom fun. Can’t wait for the rest of the Briggs siblings stories.
