One blizzard. Two opposites. And some time under the mistletoe.

Josh Carson has a secret. As a firefighter he’s comfortable being sent in to save forests and wildlife, but in his spare time he creates delicate hair ribbons that are anything but masculine. When he finds Simone snowed in on Nymph Island--and she’d rather freeze than be saved by Mr. Tough Guy--he realizes that the only way to win her over and get her to safety is to take a risk and reveal his true self.

Simone Pascal loves being independent and self-reliant--she's never needed a man to save her, and yet she keeps falling into Josh’s arms at every turn, wanting him to rescue her. The worst part? She likes it. A lot. Which is a big problem since she’s rearranged her entire life to take on a new project—a baby via a sperm donor. Her life plans most definitely do not include anything as unpredictable as falling in love with Mr. Macho Firefighter, but that seems to be exactly what she’s doing.

Will the two come to terms with their true selves in time to snag their happily ever after? Or will these two opposites be spending Christmas cold and alone?

Loved it and sad the series ended

Well we finally got the full story on Simone. The "other sister". She has always been there through all the books but she never found love on Nymph Island. It was perfect that she too would get her own HEA. Josh stumbles on the Island because he agrees to drop off a life or death envelope to Evander, not know what in it. He gets stranded because a storm creeps up and blizzard conditions keeps everyone stuck until it can clear up and they can leave. Simone and Josh are Oil and water but opposites do attract especially when your the only two people that aren't hopelessly in love or a little girl. Who of course steals the show as always. What a wonderful conclusion and ending to this series. I am sad that it did end but I look forward to Jean new work.

Not for me!

I'm totally thrown by all the great reviews for this book. I even double-checked to see that they were reviewing the same book that I read. Maybe the problem was that I hadn't read the previous books. There were so many couples that the main couple really didn't have any time to develop what I deem to be a real relationship. Apparently, this book was meant to give endings to couples from prior books. The heroine, Simone, was said to be feisty and independent. I just saw her as hard and judgmental. The "romance" consisted of the main couple constantly arguing about EVERYTHING while three other couples watched. And it was a quick, one-day thing that ended in love? Sorry, it just didn't work for me. But, the main thing that bothered me (drove me up the wall, actually!) was the constant defensive posture of the hero defending his masculinity. So, he designed hair ribbons and fairy paraphernalia for children in a burn unit (his actual occupation was as a smoke jumper) and that made him worry that people would think that he was gay? Oh, and his father was transgender...that was also brought up numerous times. But, the whole "is he gay?" thing was tiresome. After reading this, I have NO interest in going back and reading any of the other books. I was bored out of my mind and did a lot of skimming to finish. The only character that was interesting was the 5 year old.

Nice Christmas Story

Great characters, all with pleasant, if not unusual ideas. Simone is successful, strong, and bull headed. She tries to do everything on her own, never needing anyone to lend a hand. All her friends are in relationships, some starting a family, and she is alone. She sold off all her businesses and is focusing on becoming a mother, picking her own donor. Enter Josh. He is also strong and just as stubborn. Are they made for each other? One would think not with the way they snipe at each other. They are all stuck in a cabin in a snow storm on Christmas eve. Will anything come out of that situation? Doesn't seem likely, but you never know. A real page-turner. Loved it.

Resisting Love

I listened to this book as an audiobook, but I've also read it as an ebook. I tend to bring it out when the holiday season hits to get me in the mood.

Simone is a talented designer who wants a baby and will secretly do what she can to have one. Josh is a smoke jumper who is trying to accomplish his secret dream. On Christmas Eve, after hours of arguing and butting heads, both fall victim to the magic of Nymph Island's love spell.

This story has many interesting twists and turns, scares and joys. A story you expect to go one way turns a completely different direction and sucks you in. This is a wonderfully written story!

The final chapter of this book is my all time favorite. 5-year-old Tigger (and her adorable voice) give the story the best ending.

Really enjoyed!!

Josh and Simone have known each other for years. They meet again on Christmas Eve as Josh is getting paid to deliver a package to Simone's friend cottage. Josh gets snowed in with Simone and her friends and their significant others. Simone is keeping secrets from her friends but her secrets keeping getting revealed and she deals with her friends reactions and Josh's. Josh and Simone are drawn to each other and Josh tells his secret to Simone. Simone blows him off and makes comments about his past that Josh has moved beyond. Simone's friends want her to give Josh a chance and the guys are telling Josh good luck with Simone. When they leave the cottage Josh and Simone don't plan on seeing each other, but they both miss the other. Watching these two meet again and how they react to the other. This was a good book even though I have not read the others in this series!
