A secret identity romance between a former NHL star and the owner of the league's newest team. But can you truly fall in love with someone who's keeping their identity a secret? A charming, sweet hockey romance with characters so real they'll feel like long-lost friends.

Miranda's family thinks she's crazy. Not only did she just buy a hockey team—which made her a tiny bit famous—but she also moved into a small house out in the country. And, to their chagrin, she's still single.

(Not like she could ever find a man to understand her.)

Unless maybe she shed her true identity and pretended to be an average gal.

It seems to be working because she just met Dak—a down-to-earth coffee shop owner who understands her without explanation. And not only is he handsome, he makes her laugh.

Dak understands Miranda of course he does. He's former NHL...

And little does she know, her team is currently trying to recruit him to work with her rookies.

Which means that at some point he's going to have to burst their happy, romantic bubble and tell her exactly who he is…

finding the one who gets you

Loved Miranda and Dak. He gets her when so many others don't. Some secrecy going on but made the story. Can they work together and also be together romantically? Great writing and showing us them as individuals as well as a couple.

Awesome

Miranda and Dak had instant chemistry. I was so glad they were able to talk through their conflict instead of letting it fester. I love when two people actually communicate. I really enjoyed the way Dak had Miranda's back and when he called out the press for their sexist double standards. It was nice seeing some old friends from Sweetheart Creek. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

The Gingerbread Cafe! Love this book!!

The Gingerbread Cafe written by Jean Oram. I love this series centered around the hockey team and their family and friends. This book is about Miranda Fairchild, the team owner and Dak. It’s been difficult for her to meet anyone since the press makes her out to be a villain and everyone seems to know who she is…. Maybe she is finally going to get the chance to date a nice guy who doesn’t know all about her ahead of time… Or is she? I loved watching them dance around each other!

Clean, heartwarming, witty romance!

The Gingerbread Café is a clean, heartwarming, witty romance. I loved this return to Sweetheart Creek and this San Antonio hockey team. I loved the interactions of Dak and Miranda, especially when he called out the reporters for their sexist attitudes. Can they work together and still pursue a romance? I read this too quickly because I hated when I got to the end. The book captures and held my interest from beginning to end. We need more books with mature couples! Thanks for this one.
