Marry a stranger? Who does that?!?

Taylor Thompson is far too busy chasing her dream of owning the best cupcake shop in town to think about romance—no matter how often her mother reminds her she’s still single. Meanwhile, Nathan Fletcher is facing a heartbreaking deadline—his movie-star grandmother has only months left to live, and her final wish is to see him married before she goes.

So they strike a deal. Taylor will pretend to be his girlfriend and Nathan will fund her cupcake shop.

Simple. Practical. Temporary.

Until Grandma enthusiastically takes over planning the wedding.

Not wanting to break her heart, Taylor and Nathan agree to follow through with the ceremony—and quietly annul the marriage afterward. But nothing after “I do” goes according to plan. Shared vows blur into real feelings, fake kisses stop feeling fake, and two people who never meant to fall in love suddenly have everything to lose.

What happens when the stranger you marry becomes the one person you can’t let go?

Tears in my eyes at the sweetness

My new favorite Christmas street book. I loved the characters and actually got weepy at the end with the butterfly.😭😭😭 I highly recommend!

(3.5 stars) - a fake fiancée fondant

I was drawn to this book by its lovely cover - then the description of it as a fake girlfriend/fiancée story, and I thought, sure, why not?The story started out really well. I liked the main characters well enough & liked how it started with open interest & attraction between them building up to their first date. It's typical for these stories to go quickly which necessarily hurts their believability; however, it was clear that this one wanted to be fun not serious. Still, it raced unnaturally from the start to "Oh, first date? Let's plan the wedding!"While it's obvious that Taylor's mom doesn't mind divorce, you have to wonder why Nathan's grandma isn't more interested in his long-term happiness than an immediate term marriage to someone he barely even knows yet, just because she wants to be physically present for it.Even though Nathan's grandma having cancer is a sad thing, the story manages to maintain its lightheartedness without treating it flippantly. When the story's conflict comes, it was predictable but I liked the heroine's recovery & response to it. It was a nice wrap up, but odd that Anthony & the other girl were unfinished story lines. So, it had some weaknesses, but I can say that I enjoyed the story overall.*Clean romance level: sweet kisses, nothing graphic
