She fell for him online… but wants nothing to do with him in person.

Maria never planned on falling for a man she’d never met, but her late-night chats with “Bobwhite67” have become the bright spot in her exhausting days. Between juggling two jobs, raising her two boys, and trying to pay off the remnants of her ex-husband’s gambling debt, her life is chaos—yet she always finds time to slip onto her laptop to talk to the one man who makes her feel seen.

If only her real life were that simple.

Bret can’t understand why Maria keeps him firmly in the friend zone. He knows there’s something special between them, but every time he tries to get close, she pulls away. Then the truth hits him: the woman he’s been drawn to in real life is the same woman he’s been messaging for months online.

Now Bret is determined to break down her walls—without breaking her trust. But revealing the truth could either bring them the love they’ve both been longing for… or shatter the fragile connection Maria depends on.

Can he prove that the man she’s falling for behind a screen has been right in front of her all along?

Love Maria and Bret's story.

These two week so good together even though they don't know it at the beginning. She is one tough mama. She has had it rough but has made it through. They work through the ups and downs. Love her kids and this town.

Fun Story

I liked this fun story based on the movie You’ve Got Mail. Maria is working two jobs to pay off the debt her ex-husband accrued with his gambling debt. She also has two young sons ages six and seven. During her downtime she sends emails to a guy she met on a dating website. It was fun and interesting to find out who the guy was that she thought she might be in love with and what might happen. I received a copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

Cute short story

This was based on one of my favorite movies, You've Got Mail, I've lost count how many time I've watched that show! This was a fun retelling, I liked that it was similar to the movie, yet did its own thing. I thought it was fun that Bret and Maria actually worked together and had no idea they were corresponding with each other on the side. Overall, it was a cute story.

I highly recommend this book!Maria and Bret start emailing on a dating site and become closer the more they correspond.Maria is working 2 jobs to pay off her ex-husbands debts and support her two young sons. One of her jobs is working for Bret's sister Fay in her diner. Bret sees how hard she works and begins to develop feelings for her before he realized she is the one he is emailing.I absolutely love how the relationship develops between Maria and Bret.
