Can what happens at the Christmas cabin stay at the Christmas cabin?

Rachael

I’ve had a crush on my brother’s best friend my entire life. Once, in high school, I even got a taste of what it would be like to be with him, thanks to some well-placed mistletoe: incredible and humiliating. We always spend Christmas with Max’s family at our cabin, and every year I have to suffer through a blissful week with him in a completely platonic way. His steady stream of girlfriends have made him off limits...until now.

It’s Christmas.

We’re at the cabin together.

And Max Dawson is single.

Max

I’ve never looked forward to Christmas less in my entire life. My parents’ holiday will be ruined after I tell them my news, and to make matters worse, I blabbed to Rachael on the drive out to the cabin. Now she has to keep my secret until I’m ready to share with my family.

Which is probably why she’s acting so weird. Watching me. Touching me. Flirting.

It would be terrible if I wasn’t enjoying it so much.

But her brother has made it clear she’s off limits. And besides, I kissed Rachael once, and we all know how that ended.

So we definitely shouldn’t do it again.

Right?

Lovely festive read

This is a fun novel about two families who come together to celebrate every Christmas in a cabin. For the first time, however, Rachael’s brother best friend and her long time crush, Max, is single. Could this be the perfect time for them? They only have to overcome obstacles like new jobs and her brother, Josh. Excellent witty banter.

Cute Christmas Perfection

4.5 ⭐️Cute Christmas perfection!I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating: Kasey Stockton is a Christmas rom-com QUEEN! Each new story is the perfect pick-me-up and expertly balanced with heart & humour.Max & Rachael are a classic case of older brother’s best friend, and I love them. And the chosen family scenario... priceless. 🥹Christmas came early, friends, and I’m not mad about it!

A gift-wrapped romance

I loved this book so much! The brother's best friend trope is one of my favorites, and Max and Rachael were the best. I loved their banter, their friendship, and their swoony kisses. A definite page turner. I couldn't wait to get to the end. Highly recommended.

Christmasy perfection

There's nothing like a good book to get you in the mood for Christmas... Even better when it's a Christmas romance! I loved the pace of the story and the development in the characters. I often found that I had a smile on my face while reading this, it was so enjoyable to have fun, playful banter with the characters and their families. I also really loved the dual point of view. I always enjoy getting to read from both characters perspectives. There's five works in this "gift wrapped romance series" each by different authors so I'm on to the next one! Come and join me this holiday season in reading these really great romances!Favorite Quotes:“But there was that underlying current between us that hummed gently along, saying things like your lips have touched each other and you liked it.”“Universe, when I said I’d wanted one of those, I hadn’t meant max. but he would do.”“No matter what I do, I can’t get you out of my head. “Then don’t,” I whispered, making him look at me sharply.”

cute, quick, and fun read

Giving the rating a 4 because of the family presence that was so strong and real and for a story that was a satisfying. I originally had a 3 because it’s not a deep or literary masterpiece, and sometimes I feel compelled to save higher ratings for those, but in its own way, this is a high quality story. It’s not over the top with physical details but more regarding friendship, family, and love. A charming holiday read, especially if you can settle into a cozy nook for a few hours and enjoy!
