A hidden princess. A man with no family. A rebellion neither of them saw coming.

On the shores of Madra, tradition is law.

For Princess Helena, this means wearing masks to hide from common eyes.

For the people, it means bowing down to a king who cares little for them.

Wanting to rid herself of the rules holding her back, Helena escapes into the city, unrecognizable without her mask.

She only wants a taste of life outside her walls before returning to the only place she’s known, but she hadn’t counted on him. The boy who makes her forget about her brothers’ worries or her father’s wrath.

What if Dell is the freedom she’s been searching for her entire life?

As she begins to believe it’s possible to be both princess and normal girl, the kingdom she loves is thrown into chaos, and her once-solid family shatters, proving they’d been made of glass all along.

About the Author

I'm a USA Today Bestselling author of fantasy, contemporary romance, and romantic comedies. Fantasy was my first and forever love with the bestselling "Golden Curse". I love taking old stories and turning them around until they're almost unrecognizable except to the most avid fans. I write books to challenge myself, tackling hard topics or places so different from my own. Studying ancient cultures, architecture, and folklore is one of the best parts of being an author.I've written more than seventy stories full of magic, love, and friendship, and at thirty-three, have no plans to ever stop.

This book was just as good as the rest of the series, I am so drawn into this world I can't let go!

A fab start to the Cinderella tale which sends you straight to book 2 to find out what happens!

This is the first book in the True Story of Cinderella series. This is a tale of murder, betrayal, love and loss, triumph and tragedy. I loved the switching of the roles, with a Princess and a male Cinderella, both trapped in their own ways and fighting to have a bit of freedom. I'm not going to tell you what happens - I hate spoilers! - but if you're anything like me, you will find it very hard to put the book down, and get caught up in the story, reading until you reach the end... and then realise you have to go straight into book two to find out what happens next!

This was fun and fast read. The story was fast paced, the characters likable, the plot twisty, and the sibling relationships were real.

This is NOT your Mother’s Fairytale!

This is nothing like what I expected. Although I knew after reading Etta and Alex’s story it wouldn’t be. Len, isn’t the heroine YET, but I have the feeling she will be and I am looking forward to meeting her!

Literally read it from start to finish in one sitting

This was such an exciting and riveting story that as soon as i read the first line i was hooked.Lena and Del were such a fresh breeze after the longsuffering i experienced with etta and alex of the first three books in yhis series.Im a little sad about Edmunds frivolities regarding his love life. Although i initially found him to be my favourite character due to his steadfast presence in the book, he reminds me now of a teenage girl declaring her undying love to any boy that looks her way.Anyway, a little vent to get that out of my system.Cant wait to read the next one, although i first have to catch up on some work and sleep 😉
