A curse. A new enemy. A quest for vengeance.

As a child, Persinette Basile loved running through the palace with her best friend, the prince, by her side.

Now grown, she sees it for what it is. An enemy camp.

The dark cells underneath the palace hold the kingdom’s enemies, those who can bring all who hate magic to their knees. Etta’s allies. If she can get them out.

Trapped by the man she’s supposed to hate, she wants to take his kingdom from him. But a greater danger lurks on the border of Gaule.

When Alex is abducted, the kingdom turns to the one person who can find him, the girl connected to him by magic. Her search brings her face to face with an even older foe, one who can give Etta everything she’s always wanted.

A way to break the curse.

Will Etta risk the freedom of her people to save the man who betrayed her?

Editorial Reviews

This book is just... I don't even have the right words. Phenomenal. Caitlin Haines YA Book Central Reviewer

It is so well written, keeping the reader engaged from beginning to end. Once I finally started it for real, I couldn't stop. I ended up reading the whole thing in like two sittings, and then I immediately started the next book. YA Book Central Review

I loved everything about this book. The plot and character development were superb. At the end of the first book, I wasn't a fan of Alex, but I was back to loving him in Golden Chains. Edmund and Tyson were still my favorite, but they were all great. The story grew so much in this book, and I loved learning more about the history and curse. YA Book Central ReviewI pitied, hated, and loved Alex. How is that even possible? ★★★★★

About the Author

I'm a USA Today Bestselling author of fantasy, contemporary romance, and romantic comedies. Fantasy was my first and forever love with the bestselling "Golden Curse". I love taking old stories and turning them around until they're almost unrecognizable except to the most avid fans. I write books to challenge myself, tackling hard topics or places so different from my own. Studying ancient cultures, architecture, and folklore is one of the best parts of being an author.I've written more than seventy stories full of magic, love, and friendship, and at thirty-three, have no plans to ever stop.

LOVING this series!!

This is the second book in the True Story of Rapunzel trilogy from the Fantasy and Fairytales series and continues the story from where the first book left off. We really see the battle between the magic and non-magic people begin to kick off in this story, and the consequences of the decisions made by King Alex at the end of book 1. We also meet the legendary La Dame, who is an excellent baddy! I'm loving this series and can't wait to read the finale. Highly recommended reading for all fans of adult fairytales.

SLIGHT SPOILERS::I read this to continue on from the first book, which after I got into it, I enjoyed. This one was just so slow moving and didn’t do it for me. I think that the story is neat and an interesting take on fairytales, I just can’t find my self continuing on in the story…SPOILERS (also questions):Why all of a sudden when Etta got the fullness of her powers and the curse was broke did the switch flip so hard on her feelings for Alex? Like not even any sort of feeling for him anymore..? I find that odd. Also what with all the dads in this series being killed?Even if the next few books try to redeem Miya or whatever her name is.. I know she didn’t know, but I don’t think we can move on from that.ALSOOO she basically told Tyson to F off after he said “he’s my brother” like okay sis, because that’s how you should handle that🙄.Anyways I won’t be reading the rest of this series to find out the answers, but that’s fine.

Loving this series!

Golden Chains picks up from the shocking ending from book one. One thing though, don't count Etta out. She is tough and will find a way to persevere.I loved this installment. Any lingering questions I had from book one gets answered as the author delved deeper into the explanation behind the curse. And emotions? My emotions were all over the place with this book. I pitied, hated, and loved Alex. How is that even possible? I even loved and hated Etta. Their story is twisted and certainly not an easy one clear up to the end of this book. Oh, that ending!M. Lynn has created a fantastic world which leaves me drooling for book 3! I'm glad the wait isn't long.

Magic Surprise

I like the second book of this series. It definitely had a lot of interesting twists and surprises. Not sure how she is going to make 5 more books to this series. Hopefully, it won't have a bunch of repeating stuff. Rmtoo much repetition is frustrating. Good series so far. Ready for the next one.

Amazing

This is the best Rapunzel retelling I have read. Loved the action of the second book. Most of the Rapunzel retelling may be in this book, but will definitely read the third book to find out more.
Honest confession: I read the second book without reading the first and as a result like Alexander a lot more than if I read the first. I suspect the first book contains
