One girl. Two worlds. And a destiny she never asked for.

Brea Robinson doesn't believe in fairytales—until the day she's arrested for a crime she has no memory of committing. Branded unstable and abandoned by her family, Brea is left with nothing but questions. That is, until a mysterious stranger whisks her away from her bleak reality and into a realm torn from myth and magic.

In the world of the Fae, secrets pulse beneath every wickedly beautiful surface, and Brea may be the biggest secret of all. As she navigates a kingdom where loyalty is uncertain, magic is power, and everyone wants something from her, Brea must confront the terrifying truth: the lies she believed about herself may be the only thing keeping her alive.

Torn between a past she can’t trust and a future she never chose, Brea is thrust into a war for control—of a kingdom, of her power, and of her heart. But if she can’t untangle the deception woven around her, both realms may fall.

Fae’s Deception is a swoon-worthy portal fantasy perfect for fans of A Court of Thorns and Roses, The Bridge Kingdom, and Throne of Glass. With lush worldbuilding, forbidden romance, twists that will leave you breathless, and a heroine who’s done playing by anyone else’s rules. This is the first book in a spellbinding series where nothing—and no one—is as they seem.

Editorial Reviews

FAE'S DECEPTION lives up to its name because there is so much going on behind closed doors that Brea can't even begin to imagine. YA Book Central Review

I would recommend this book to fans of fae, betrayal, romance, and stories where what seems like glitz and gold might actually be poison. YA Book Central Review

Full of the beauty and deception you've come to expect from the Fae, this book stands out in the sea of others with an intricate plot, Fae brothers, and a fantastic lead. YA Book Central Review

Overall I really enjoyed Fae's Deception. It's a fantastic start to a new series. Brea is amazing and the O'Shea brothers intriguing. I cannot wait to dive into the next one. If you are a fan of Holly Black or Fae stories in general, you will love this one! YA Book Central Review

About the Author

I'm a USA Today Bestselling author of fantasy, contemporary romance, and romantic comedies. Fantasy was my first and forever love with the bestselling "Golden Curse". I love taking old stories and turning them around until they're almost unrecognizable except to the most avid fans. I write books to challenge myself, tackling hard topics or places so different from my own. Studying ancient cultures, architecture, and folklore is one of the best parts of being an author.I've written more than seventy stories full of magic, love, and friendship, and at thirty-three, have no plans to ever stop.

Good concept, but very sloppy.

So, the beginning was.. kind of interesting.. she thought she was crazy. Had even spent time in an institution and was going back to school. Which is a decent start, but her headspace was so confusing and hard to grasp. The beginning of the book should suck you into that world. Make you wanna be there, this didn’t.Then at the first palace, everything seems great. There is literally no hint that the palace is an evil place. It has to be mentioned multiple times. And then the ending was.. kind of horrible.. she finds out who she really is, but also the other queens daughter was kidnapped... and it ends on a happy note.. it should have ended with Brea wanting to help fight to bring the daughter back home. She is not a strong character at all and I feel that is a big reason why this book isn’t the greatest.

Wonderful escapism

What a great start to a whole raft of stories. It has set up a strong base from which to work the writer own kind of magic. I really want to keep on reading but cannot afford the next saga as this book I was able to obtain for free. Its a pity but Ill just have to use my own imagination
